For over 6 1/2 years now, I've known that I have PCOS ( Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome). Even though I've known about it for so long, I hadn't known how serious it was and how many women struggled with it. It was until about 2 years ago that I got really serious about it and began research on it; I found a lot of helpful articles and a lot of not so encouraging things about it. Before I go too far, here's my story of dealing with PCOS:
When I was 14, I went to the doctor; at that time my family and doctors were concerned with my weight. I would randomly gain a ton of weight, and then it was incredibly hard to get rid of. My family doctor referred me to a gynecologist, who told me a little bit about PCOS, how she new I had it (some skin discoloration, pudgy neck, and bigger midsection). Only being 14, I didn't understand much of what she was talking about, I didn't take it very seriously because of that. It was at that point that I was put on birth control to help regulate my menstrual cycles ( I rarely got them on my own) and was given metformin to help with my insulin. Again, I had little knowledge of how badly my body handled carbs/sugars. For years I took both of these medicines, even though they made me sick and extremely tired often. When I was about 18, I decided to stop taking the birth control. I had heard terrible stories about how bad it actually was for you and was tired of being sick from it. I continued to take metformin, even though it wasn't my favorite thing in the world. Around this time, I also lost a lot of weight after being up and down on the scales for years. Eventually, I gained most of it back due to not watching my carbs/sugars as closely...
Now to the present
Within these past few months, I have been doing a lot of research on PCOS; I've been frustrated with not being able to start my period without taking the progesterone pill or going to another doctor for help. I've gotten sick of metformin and decided to no longer take it and watch more closely what I eat; I wanted nothing more to do with it. Throughout my research, I came across Pregnitude. Pregnitude is a dietary supplement; when I read that, I was already interested and excited. I searched for review after review of people who have taken it; I wanted to know if it was successful, before spending $40 a month on it. I found some incredible reviews and very few negative reviews. After reading that it promotes normal menstrual cycles, ovulation, hormones, etc., I had to give it a shot... so I ordered it!
How Pregnitude Has Treated Me
I'm about a week and a half into it and I can already feel a huge difference in me. While it's been a little hard on my hormones, since everything is changing, everything else has been great! As I was taking my first packet of the day today, I realized that for the past 2 days, I haven't had any carb/sugar cravings! This is probably my most exciting point (at least for me). One of the biggest pains of PCOS is the cravings, and I'm not having any! I'm getting excited to see how well it's going to work. Other than the tender breasts, cramps, and a few sappy moments, I'm completely happy with this product!

Pumping Up My Cook Book
I thought bagels would be a challenge, especially since I just recently got into making my own bread! But, surprisingly, they weren't hard at all. A long process, but completely worth it!
I do believe my mom ate most of these within just a few hours of me giving them to her!
I decided to finish off my baking for the day with some oatmeal sandwich cookies!
The creme recipe I found gave me a bit of trouble, but with my own tweeks to the recipe, it turned out delicious!

Lemon-Lime Divine!
These 2 beauties added a few more rays of sunshine to my day (though my sister takes the cake for sure)! :)
Earlier this week, I had my hubby pick up some lemons and limes for my detox water; while I only wanted a couple of each, he brought bags full of each (praise the Lord he did, otherwise I wouldn't of had the chance to make this yummy, moist, fluffy thing)! I have so many that I knew I needed to put them to use somehow, and then, *light bulb*, I figured I'd put my own twist on a cake that I had already planned to! Who wants a plain old white cake anyway?
With the lemon and lime juice squeezed into the cake itself; then the juicy, zesty icing with a few extra zests on top, I couldn't help myself (after I took pictures of course)! :) It was so good that I broke my long streak of a diet and helped myself to 2 (small) pieces!
Given how many carbs and sugars this chunk of love carries, I think I'll experiment and make it a little healthier, without losing any of it's yumminess! :)
Even though it was a Monday (Yuck!) I was able to make it brighter so easily!
As always, have a beautiful, blessed day :)
